Our Party's Future begins...

...right now!

Today is the first day to begin registering new Republicans.

Lou Barletta's strong showing in Luzerne county shows our rebuilding efforts are bearing fruit. Lou had a solid victory in Luzerne County, and that is a very positive "take-away" from this General Election. (For the unofficial County General Election results, including absentee ballots, click here.)

Let's build on our gains and pick up right where we left off....STARTING TODAY!

It's time to...

VOTE!

72 Hours/Election Day...

Volunteers for the 72-Hour/Election Day phone and door shifts are needed!

A shift sign-up sheet is located on the wall next to the TV at Headquarters. Phones AND door shifts are both important! We need to reach out to folks with a physical knock at the door!

Also...whenever you pick up a yard sign for someone you know, PLEASE encourage that person to sign up for at least one shift on phones and doors. The 72-Hours/Election Day time frame - Friday, October 31 to Tuesday,November 4 - is a critical period. Volunteers will be needed!

In addition, we are working closely with all of our campaigns - Lou Barletta, Chris Hackett, and Karen Boback - to ensure that our 72-Hour/Election Day activities benefit the entire Republican slate!

OCTOBER 18: SUPER SATURDAY!!!

This Saturday (10/18) is a nationwide Super Saturday!

Our goal is 7,000 calls and 500 doors - requiring roughly 80 volunteers on the phones, and 12 volunteers going door-to-door.

This event will serve as a "test-run" of our 72-Hours capacity and we need YOUR help filling all of our phone bank shifts and recruiting multiple door-to-door parties throughout the county.

A sign-up sheet is posted at Headquarters. Prizes will be available to our top callers, and our top door knocker! Come to GOP Headquarters and sign up TODAY!

DEBATE WATCH PARTY AT GOP HEADQUARTERS!

A Debate-Watch Party is scheduled for this Wednesday, October 15 at Headquarters. This is the final presidential debate of this election and various media will be present, including an Australian TV news crew and local TV affiliates. High attendance is necessary to project a positive image to the NE PA electorate. Please come out and watch this important last debate!

ABSENTEE BALLOT INFORMATION FOR THE 2008 GENERAL ELECTION...

A pair of important Absentee Ballot dates are approaching.

Tuesday, October 28 is the deadline for applications for absentee ballots.

An important note from the Luzerne County BOE website regarding applications for Absentee Ballots:

A voter may appear in person at the Bureau of Elections any time prior to the deadline to make application for a civilian absentee ballot. Voters may also hand deliver applications on behalf of other voters in the same way they may deliver an application to register to vote. However, the ballot itself may only be delivered to the voter himself or herself. In other words, if you are the applicant, you will receive only your ballot and not that of anyone else.

Friday, October 31 is another key date: It's the deadline for submitting most Absentee Ballots.

Here are more important notes from the BOE website on submitting voted Absentee Ballots:

All voted absentee ballots; except those received from military and overseas electors, and emergency absentee electors, as defined by law, must be received by the county board of elections by 5:00 PM on this day to be counted.

A voter may appear in person at the Bureau of Elections any time prior to the deadline to deposit their own voted ballot into a ballot box for such purpose.

On the day of the deadline, voters also have the option of placing the proper postage upon the voted absentee ballot and giving it to the postal worker at the public counter of the main branch of the post office on South Main Street, Wilkes-Barre. The postal worker will hand cancel the postage and hold it for a representative of the Bureau of Elections who will collect those voted absentee ballots for processing at 4:45 PM.

MAIL COMPLETED APPLICATIONS TO:
